I am only aware of this rare species from one location on the Hutton Roof complex and that is on the Farleton side were it is seen covering an area of a couple of metres

You can see the type of habitat it prefers like this area of limestone scree and growing in the nooks and crannies

You can see the well notched leaves and the very red stem which you also get with this x intermedia species.

Comparisons

Circaea x intermedia (Upland Enchanters Nightshade) top and
Circaea lutetiana (Enchanters Nightshade) bottom

The above photo is just a guide to demonstrate the difference between Circaea x intermedia
the (Upland Enchanters Nightshade) hybrid which is the top section
of the above photograph.
and the regular Circaea lutetiana (Enchanters Nightshade) (bottom section of photo)

The leaf of the Upland EN is only about 3/4 of the size of the leaf of the regular Enchanters Nightshade which you get a idea from the above photographs.

Another and probably the best way to distinguish between them is that the Circaea x intermedia (Upland Enchanters) leaf edge is far more deeply notched
than that of the regular.

Also you will note that the habitats are clearly different
